Volunteer Marina

The separation of the building into two distinct pavilions creates an interest for viewers of the building from both the river and from campus. The pavilions create a visual frame for the river, rather than an object obstructing the view.

This also goes along with the idea of the building to be a gateway from the campus to the river. It allows people to be physically and visually taken through the facility to the river.

The separation also allows for the incorporation of a multipurpose staging area into the facility that can be used for a number of other uses that are not outlined in the program.
