Jay Leno returns to helm the Tonight Show on March 1st, and here’s what I’m doing about it, step by step. I am just one lowly viewer, and this is more about a reminder to me not to watch than anything else. Though I’m sure Comcast Xfinity monitors how people are using their cable boxes, so maybe if enough people do this, they might take notice.
Step One: On the remote choose Menu, Select the spyglass icon.
Step Two: Choose the TV Title Search
Step Three: Search for “Tonight Show with Jay Leno”
Step Four: Choose the Lock icon.
Step Five: Choose a password. (I chose 1234, like my luggage.)
Step Six: Select the lock icon. If you’re feeling especially injured by the return of Jay Leno, I suggest blocking NBC altogether by choosing the second icon.
The next time you find yourself looking for something to watch after the news, you’ll have to enter in the PIN number you chose to watch “Jaywalking.” Hopefully those few seconds will remind you, “I should read a book or something.“
Hi there! Long time no see. So if you’re reading this, you may have noticed I’ve moved my blog to WordPress. The new feed can be found here. Google Reader tells me that there are 18 subscribers via Google Reader, and I think I have successfully configured the rss feed there to give one last post to tell you to come here.
Many of you are asking, “Why, Tim, Why would you do this after having been dormant so long?” I sometimes feel cramped by the 140 character limit of Twitter, and the backlash of my conservative high school classmates in South Carolina on Facebook sometimes has a chilling effect.
But one post does not a comeback make, so watch this space.
